Nicholas Sparks is basically the reason Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth came into each other’s lives.
And news that they’d tied the knot this Christmas made the famous author ‘so happy’ on Wednesday, as he tweeted to congratulate the two actors.
Miley, 26, and Liam, 28, were teenagers when they met on the set of The Last Song to portray his fictional romance, which ultimately sparked their real-life, decade-long love story.
Actual goosebumps.
The Notebook author, who penned The Last Song in 2009, retweeted a picture of Miley and Liam’s wedding day as Miley finally confirmed their intimate nuptials after 10 years together.
He wrote: ‘This makes me so happy. Congratulations @MileyCyrus and @LiamHemsworth. #TheLastSong’
The couple appeared to recreate the famous kissing scene on the beach from the film as they embraced on their wedding day.
Their enduring romance has captured the hearts of fans who have seen rebellious Ronnie’s relationship with Will mirrored in their own off and then on-again love story.
Back in 2010, Miley and Liam had already begun dating by the time they started their promotional tour for the film.
They’d met the previous June and found an instant connection but spent five years enduring break-ups and reconciliations, even calling off their 2012 engagement on more than one occasion.
But their Christmas Eve wedding came as a surprise to us all, since Miley generally refused to disclose details about any impending nuptials.
On Wednesday, she finally confirmed that they’d tied the knot and uploaded the glorious wedding images we were all waiting for.
