During the week of the Great British songbook on The X Factor we had our first real shock when it was announced that the show’s blue-eyed boy Sam Callahan had crashed out after a tense sing off against his friend and group mate Luke Friend, meaning that judge Louis Walsh has finally lost one of his boys.
Sam never really hit it off with the judges so it was probably obvious that lucky Luke would be saved, despite having a few wobbly weeks.
To start the show and singing Barlow’s Take That hit ‘Never Forget’ the finalists took to the stage for a rather lacklustre joint song before the main talking point of the week – an unusual performance of Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus.
