Miley Cyrus has admitted she had been plotting to call things off with Liam Hemsworth for months.
The coupled only confirmed their split last week but the 20-year-old Wrecking Ball singer says her forthcoming single Drive was inspired by her desire to end their engagement – and was written back in February.
She explained: ‘I wrote it while I was working on Valentine’s Day – emotionally it was such a hard time.
‘It is about needing to leave someone but not really wanting to completely cut yourself off from the relationship. It’s a time when you want to leave but you can’t. It’s also about moving on.’
